The most exciting event of the year happened this week, besides Christmas. The first day of summer! Bring on the fireworks, long sunsets, fireflies and campfires because this is the best time of the year.
I’ve got a secret that I want to share with you, now that we are close buddies.
I have always wanted to live in the south and be a southern girl. I think I’d fit right in because I always want to say y’all, I love boots (especially of the cowboy variety), country music is all I listen to, not to mention I love the heat (to some extent).
The best part of waking up….
Come on, you know the rest!
COFFEE! I don’t want to say I’m addicted, but if I don’t have my daily mug-ful, stay far away from me. At least arm’s length at all times.
Ever eat ice cream before bed? All the time? Me too!
Today’s flavor was made with that in mind.
Ever have sleepytime tea? Its perfect and herbal-y and I can’t say for certain, but it might have magical powers.
Today’s flavor was inspired by one of my very favorite places on earth: Lake George, New York.
For one week every year, my family and I pack up our truck and boat and head north. Up until recently, we would camp.
No not glamp.
Like real camping.
In a tent. No running water.
Just you and your family on an island.
It is lovely and serene and should be the location of a Nicholas Sparks movie.
The other day, I had a few spare moments. So with no other plans, I cracked open my book of flavor ideas and decided to make ice cream. With no previous research, I found a recipe a started to whip up a batch.
Breakfast has become one of my favorite meals (my other favorite is dessert). I mean what’s not to love, there’s all sorts of acceptable breakfast cakes and syrup too!
So with the inspiration of my favorite pancakes (yes, I have a ranking), I made a pancake ice cream!
Happy Summer everyone! Oh wait, it’s not summer yet? Well for me it finally is and I couldn’t be happier about it. This semester has finally come to a close and let me tell you, it was a hectic one.
To celebrate summer, I decided to make some ice cream. This time, I made a flavor of my own creation. I wanted to combine vaguely savory and very sweet flavors.
The sun is shining and the flowers are blooming everywhere!
It’s a beautiful time on campus…except for the fact the the dreaded finals are fast approaching. Projects, essays and exams are piling up faster than I can keep up with!
But, my dear sister knows just how to lift my out of my work sinkhole. She bought me two of Ben & Jerry’s new core flavors as a surprise. I’ve been craving these bad boys since they were unveiled on Snapchat earlier this year.
This week was a pretty eventful one, to say the least! My school won this little thing called the NCAA National Championships, maybe you’ve heard of it? I was part of one of the most exciting moments in school history and I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else but jammed into our Pavilion with four thousand of my closest pals.
After a long , hard week of classes (hehe, I only had 3 days of class this week), I was needing a sweet treat. If you are following the trend of my habits, you should be guessing I mean ice cream.
I have found go-to scoop shop when I’m away to school just this year. It is called Zwalen’s Ice Cream and it is one of the coolest concepts of an ice cream shop I’ve ever heard of. They only offer three flavors everyday: vanilla, chocolate and the flavor of the day that they hand-make multiple times daily.
Welcome! I'm a chemical engineering student with dreams of becoming the next ice cream sensation. I love drawing chemical mechanisms and cuddling with my hamster Beaker. Join me as I learn the joys of ice cream making!
