Koo Koo KaCherry

By on February 23, 2018

Introduction

Welcome back ice cream lovers. At the time of this writing one entire pint of this ice cream has been devoured lovingly. I got my inspiration of this flavor from my book of flavor ideas, but it seemed to fit perfectly with the recent holiday. There’s something romantic about a cherry Kahlua ice cream with a mocha fudge swirl. I think this flavor is a winner! And if you’ve been wondering where I am going to grad school keep reading!

Tb’s PB

By on February 13, 2018

Introduction

Welcome back to my site friends! Today’s flavor is inspired and was suggested by none other than my sister, Tara. For once, I even let her help. For those of you who don’t know Tara, allow me to introduce her.

Tara, or Tara Betty as I like to call her, is my older sister. Please, do not confuse me for the older one! She is a pharmacist and cat mom of two. She is the perfectionist of our family and is a wonderful baker. She’s easily woken up by the sound of her phone ringing, which is great when I want to chat early in the morning. I often call her my second mom, because that’s pretty much the role she’s adopted. She’s a good human aunt (I’m better), great dog aunt and all around good gal.

Okay, enough with the squishyness, lets talk ice cream. Tb’s PB is a rich and dense chocolate peanut butter ice cream with roasted peanut chunks thrown in for good measure.

Pie of My Eye II

By on January 30, 2018

Introduction

Welcome one and all! Is it summer yet? Just checked outside and it is still cold. Darn. Today’s flavor is a repeat, so you are not having deja vu. Last time I made this flavor, it did not turn out as planned. But today I am back to defeat this flavor once and for all. Pie of My Eye II is a key lime pie ice cream but this time it was made more like a cake, with a graham cracker crust and is cut into slices instead of scooped.

School is school, but life is great. My main objective for this semester is to be consistently happy and to see more goodness in everything. Its hard work! Lets chat ice cream, shall we?

Fuzzy Lollipop Ice Cream

By on January 21, 2018

Introduction

Welcome one and all to the circus! Today I have mastered the ultimate kid flavor; cotton candy. Well, mastered is a bit of a loose term. As I will discuss later there was some issues with the ice cream that I easily could identify thanks to my week at the Penn State ice cream short course. Also if you’re curious how that went keep reading too because it was certainly a life-changing experience for me.

Fuzzy lollipop ice cream is a cotton candy flavored ice cream with one special pint for my best friend that includes peanut butter cups. It sounds disgusting but if you actually try it you’ll see it’s better than it sounds and looks.

Why fuzzy lollipop you say? Well you see when me and my cousin were younger all we wanted was the fuzzy looking lollipop on a stick when we went somewhere. We were devastated when we couldn’t have it. Fast forward years later when we ate a pound of blue cotton candy down the shore so fast that we were up all night giggling.

Ode to Fall Ice Cream

By on December 7, 2017

Introduction

Oh my friends,I do apologize. I am indeed alive and did not fall off a cliff. Whoever said senior year was a breeze severely lied to me. I am nearing the end of the semester with four professional presentations and one very imposing final exam left before Christmas break. Everything got carried away and I am very sad to say that ice cream fell by the wayside. This flavor was actually made in early November, but taking the time out of group projects was just not do-able. Until now. I am making the time to hand-deliver this ice cream to you. This ice cream is called Ode to Fall and is a pumpkin ice cream loaded with chunks of oatmeal cookie dough.

Red Whiney Ice Cream

By on October 28, 2017

Introduction

Welcome one and all! Happy Halloweekend! This weekend at my school it is both a celebration of Halloween and Homecoming; aka the dream weekend. Me? I am in the library working on my four major projects that all seem to be due the same day.

I have been dreading telling you about this flavor. It is a red wine ice cream with gingersnap cookies. And…it is a failure of a flavor. So if you are feeling like nothing is going right in your life right now, settle in for a good read about someone who is struggling just like you.

Yes I Cran!

By on October 17, 2017

Introduction

Hello ice creamers! Fall is kicking in. The crisp is in the air and the leaves are the perfect crunchiness. This is the time of year that I would make my mom a leaf bouquet when I was younger. Now fall tends to be a bit more stressful than looking for that perfect leaf. I did have fall break to recharge my batteries to settle in for the last push of the semester. This week I made a cranberry apple sorbet perfect for the season. It is called Yes I Cran! as a little play on words but also as one of those positive affirmations I can look at as I dig into this pint.
